Calgary Search and Rescue Association believes that volunteers play a vital role in search and rescue operations, no matter what the scale. Volunteers from all walks of life donate hundreds of hours a year to train, search and promote our organization. Our members are trained in standard first aid, map and compass navigation, radio communications, survival skills, and are certified by the Emergency Response Institute (ERI), search and rescue techniques (wilderness and urban), low angle slope rescue, avalanche awareness, Alzheimer's patient behavior, evidence handling and more.
