The Air Component owns 90 F-16, of which 72 are integrated into NATO air defence system.
These aircrafts are homebased at 2 airbases : Kleine Brogel and Florennes.The F-16 is suited for a majority of task, for defensive missions, otherwise for offensive and recognition missions.Thanks to the new equipment for electronic decoy, and a Mid Life Update programme (MLU), the F-16 stays suited to carry out all operational tasks far beyond the year 2000.
