IVAO - Belgium Division
Exams

When you start at IVAO you begin with basic ratings, as you gain experience in the online environment you might wish to upgrade your rating, you can do this by taking exams (as well theoretical as pratical ones)
Some more explanations about the exams:
Theoretical Exams

Please review our Automated Examining System for information regarding the procedure to follow to pass a theoretical exam.

Practical Exams

After the candidate passes the theoretical exam he or she can apply for a practical exam. The request will be allocated to one of the authorized IVAO examiners. He or she will contact the candidate (by e-mail) to arrange for a date for the exam.
Every month there will be an exam event, where most of all practical exams will be done.

For pilots: logon, parked at any gate at the airport agreed with the examiner (mostly EBBR). The logon callsign should be EXAxxxx (xxxx=number of the exam), make sure to Squawk standby on the apron. the examiner will contact the candidate by private message and will communicate any further details for the exam from there.
Charts of the airport used for the exam are needed (you can find them here). The examiner will follow the aircraft with IvAc and give marks on the accuracy of the flown manoeuvers, the correct phraseology (language) and readbacks etc... . Voice isn't mandatory, but highly recommended.

For controllers: start IvAc as an observer with a callsign like xxxx_OBS (replace xxxx with the airport you are going to take for the exam). The correct position assignment and other instructions will be given by the examiner just before the exam.
The candidate will be tested on his actions and communications with the pilots. The examiner will follow the candidate from within IvAc. Voice isn't mandatory, but highly recommended.

Further exam instructions are available form the Automated Examining System.
