Eurocontrol's Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC), located at Maastricht Aachen Airport, provides air traffic control for traffic above 24,500 ft over Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and north-west Germany.
MUAC is designated as EDYY. The Belgian part of MUAC is designated as EDYY_BRU. When controlling EDYY_BRU the callsign to be used is EDYY_BRU_CTR with radio callsign Maastricht Radar.

The EDYY_BRU part which lies in Germany, called the BITBU, NOR and KOSIT areas, are not part of the Brussels FIR. This means that only EDYY_BRU has responsibility over these areas from FL245 upwards. When EDYY_BRU is not online, EBBU_CTR will assume responsibilty over these areas above FL245.
At this time EDYY_BRU may only be opened during events after approval from the BeLux staff. For each event it will be stated if EDYY_BRU will be made available to request, but EDYY_BRU can only be activated if EBBU_CTR is online.
